Tony Mactony had a huge break through into the industry

Antony makatu, a radio presenter at Commuter FM, known by his stage name Tony Mactony





He was born and raised in Limpopo, makwarela township. Now he is currently based in Pretoria, Gauteng Province. He is a Musician and a radio presenter, he started music in 2007, he also fell in love with media then he got involved in acting, radio presenting, he started to be a radio presenter in 2018. He grew up in a family that don't support music, his parents didn't want him to do music, but when time goes they realised that he really loves music. It came to a point where they had to give him their blessings in his music journey but they wanted him to finish school first.


In 2017 he got nominated in African music Tsonga award, unfortunately he won the award (Best new upcoming artist). This achievement made his parents to believe in him and his dreams. He also completed her diploma of chemical engineering. Then he focused on Media full time.


He was motivated by Ashifa Shaba, he motivated him alot in terms of radio presenting. When it comes to music, he was motivated by Lil Wayne. As for acting, we started to fall in love with acting when his cousin started to play a role/character in movhango. He joined a film production called VMG, they shot several stories and they were broadcasting on Mzanzi Magic.


He is now running his own podcast, he is also working on an amapiano EP. He also have been shooting several stories.


In 2020 he got an opportunity to record with Kwesta, they recorded a single called Big Dreams, this track putted him on the map. He also shared a stage with Cassper Nyovest, Maraza, Emtee, Distriction Boyz and more.


His aim to impact people who are interested in media, he want to help them to be recognised as most of them are talented but struggling to get make it.





He want to be remembered as a helpful person as he helped alot of artists, as he is a promoter, a studio co-producer at la-fame records. He want to be a big brand in Africa, big producer, big film maker, he also want his music to trend International, and as a radio presenter, he want to present at Metro FM.


He loves his fans and he can recognise those who are his biggest supporters, even those who don't support him. Covid-19 did not affect him alot, as he got the chance to record with Kwesta, he got more Instagram followers, it gave him chance to market more
